Under the Interstate Treaty on the Protection of Minors (JMStV), jugendschutz.net was linked to the KJM in its organisation on 01 April 2003 and has been supporting the KJM since then regarding the control of the internet.
jugendschutz.net was set up in 1997 by the ministries in charge of minors in the German states for monitoring content distributed in the internet with regard to its impact on the protection of minors. It continually monitors the internet and also reacts to complaints.
If there is a breach of the provisions of the Interstate Treaty on the Protection of Minors, jugendschutz.net notifies the respective provider and informs the KJM or the self-regulation organisation if the provider has affiliated to the respective self-regulation organisation as a member.
